  • Dialoguing in Global Education: Build your skills fostering effective dialogue around cross-cultural communication and inclusion through this 7-week course, part of the Global Competence Certificate and offered online, May 15–July 2, 2017. Registration deadline: May 2, 2017.
  • 2017 Call for NCSS Awards and Grants Applications: Do you know of an excellent social studies educator or program that deserves recognition? The National Council for the Social Studies is accepting nominations and applications for 2017 awards and grants. Deadline: May 15, 2017.
  • Free Webinars: The Council for Economic Education is offering free professional development webinars for teachers nationwide. The webinars cover multiple topics on how to integrate personal finance and economics in the classroom. Webinars offered until: May 23, 2017.
  • Thomson Reuters Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award: This award recognizes innovative contributions by information science teachers. Deadline: August 1, 2017.
  • Japanese Teaching Material Purchase Grant: Educational institutions that wish to purchase teaching materials for their Japanese-language courses may receive $1,000 from the Japanese Foundation of Los Angeles. Deadline: September 15, 2017, and March 15, 2018.
  • Franklin R. Buchanan Prize: The Association for Asian Studies invites submissions for the Franklin R. Buchanan Prize, awarded annually to recognize an outstanding curriculum publication on Asia designed for any educational level, elementary through university. Deadline: November 1, 2017.
  • Looking for summer professional development on global topics? Federally funded National Resource Centers across the country have many opportunities available. Deadlines vary.
  • Awesome Foundation Grants: The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1,000 at a time. Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. Applications are ongoing.
