IIE's President and CEO, Allan Goodman, will be joined by members of the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) to discuss their commitment to increasing academic partnerships between the U.S. and Finland. EDUFI and IIE will also announce the launch of an International Academic Partnership Program with Finland and discuss EDUFI's commitment to IIE's Generation Study Abroad initiative to increase the number of U.S. students that study abroad.

Freeman-ASIA Awards for Undergraduate Study Abroad in East and Southeast Asia

The competition for the Freeman-ASIA Awards for Undergraduate Study Abroad in East and Southeast Asia for summer 2017 is now open. The Freeman-ASIA program supports U.S.-based undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.

Go Overseas is excited to announce the 2nd annual Study in Ireland scholarship! Education in Ireland and Go Overseas are offering 26 full-tuition scholarships including 15 undergrad semesters and 11 postgraduate programs, for a total of more than $290,000 in tuition. The deadline to apply is March 17, 2017, and the winner can choose to use it for Summer or Fall 2017 or Spring, Summer or Fall 2018. The scholarships cover tuition only and are only available to US students; exchange students are not eligible.

Thirteen U.S. college students will spend the next semester receiving a world-class education, exploring stunning landscapes, and serving as Kiwi Ambassadors for future study abroad students – all with support from Education New Zealand and the New Zealand universities. Chosen among 104 applicants, four U.S. students received $2,000 each to help fund their flights to New Zealand. Seven New Zealand universities also awarded one or more $500 Excellence Awards to US study abroad students to help fund their studies as they start their semester in New Zealand this month.

While studying abroad, the students will be Kiwi Ambassadors for Education New Zealand. They will share their experiences with more than 17,000 people following @studyinnewzealand on Instagram.  In addition, the students will regularly update their blogs with personal stories, photos and videos highlighting their studies, cultural experiences,
new friendships and outdoor adventures.

For study in New Zealand starting July 2017, students can apply for the
Generation Study Abroad Travel and Excellence Awards by April 30, 2017.

CIEE’s $20,000 Generation Study Abroad Access Grant

Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is proud to announce the third annual $20,000 Generation Study Abroad Access Grant. This grant is part of CIEE’s Generation Study Abroad™ pledge to double the number of students who study abroad by 2020 and to increase access to international education for traditionally underrepresented students in study abroad. CIEE will be accepting proposals starting February 15, 2017 for innovative summer 2018 Faculty-Led & Custom programs.
