We’re excited to announce the 2017 Margot Stern Strom Innovation Grants! For 10 years, these grants (named after our founder), have given educators the chance to deepen their work with Facing History and use our content in new and innovative ways. This year, we’re giving out 12 grants of $2,500 to teach empathy in the classroom.
This year’s theme is based on our 2016 online game for social change, Face the Future. How would you make empathy a more tangible, concrete experience for young people? Prepare a video, two minutes or less in length, to share your best idea for a chance to win a $2,500 grant. Two of the 12 recipients will receive an additional $2,500 to work with Facing History on promoting their winning project for educators everywhere. Will you be one of them? Visit our page for more information on important dates and our rules and regulations. Submissions open on Monday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. EST and will be open through Friday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
